THE TOUR
The tour

What makes ancient tales so mesmerizing is the very possibility that they were founded in reality.

This Mythical Gift, a FREE 3-day itinerary of Oedipus, explores the ancient locations as referenced in the myth, while following a journey that will touch on the truth of the mythical legend and captivate your curiosity.

The story of Oedipus is an all-time favourite of mine. With all the complex characters, wrong doings and confusing events, the simplest summary of this timeless story is, you cannot escape your true destiny.

And so, Oedipus’ story, and your own mythical adventure, begins as you travel through time, visiting the various locations that form the storyline, whilst taking time to experience the life of a true Greek.

This is certainly one of my favourite myths and tours. It has been personalised to combine mythical events and my personal interests. You will find restaurant suggestions, bars, beaches and everything else in between.

With unspoiled terrain, simple life and natural beauty, it’s an effortless blend between the ancient and modern worlds.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed sharing it with you!

3 DAY ITINERARY
Itinerary

What makes ancient tales so mesmerizing is the very possibility that they were founded in reality. This is particularly true for Sophocles’ play, Oedipus Rex. Many of the locations referenced in the play, actually existed and still do. Therefore, you have the rare privilege of visiting these places in the present day.

But this 3-day tour of Oedipus is more than a physical visit of ancient locations. It is an emotional ride of our protagonist’s journey of self-discovery.

Day 1 – Explore modern-day Athens and with careful guidance, enter the world of classical Athens.

Day 2 – A day in the classics as you trace Oedipus’ personal journey of self-discovery.

Day 3 – You farewell Oedipus at his home where he was raised, and re-enter modern-day Athens.

Every element of the tour has been considered including guides, activities, accommodation, restaurants and transportation details
